Bienvenida! Ipars Restaurante Y Bar de Tapas

I could say that I belong to the other side of the city. Living in an island for almost two years, relocated me entirely away from the urban life. As evidenced by this inactive blog for how many years, I was already so distant from the what-a-bouts in the metropolis. I never knew exactly what the city looks like or which restaurants to go to. I was completely immobilized, say chained, by my workplace's location. Anyway, with my long-winded speech again, I must say, "Bienvenida!"

I welcome myself back to the blogging world. I guess, it is still in my system to reach out to people; to communicate, to inform, and to entertain. Generally, that is what blogging is all about - to make sense. Figuratively speaking, my islander spirit is ready to conquer the urban jungle (feeling like wonder woman with that line). I hope you tag along with me because I will be traveling the whole world with food and this, my dear readers, is my "Gastronomic Journey".

The interior and the Spanish feel...

Ipars Restaurante Y Bar de Tapas - owned by Mr. Ipar O. Miranda (who is also the chef), this authentic Spanish restaurant has a brilliant touch of utopical Spanish art. The "Matador" paintings and pictures on the wall are real Spanish depiction including the "colorful" banderitas which hang at the bar's ceiling. The high-ceiling chandeliers added to the Spanish feel of the restaurant.

"On the Menu"
Aside from the hand-down menus, food listings are creatively decorated in barrel-like covers displayed on the wall. A board of colorful chalks have the list of wines to one's liking from house wine to chardonnay. Ipars Restaurante Y Bar De Tapas could occupy a crowd up to 20 diners in their long table.

Hambre for lunch...
Spanish starters are served as aperitifs - garlic bread (the garlic stays longer as an after taste so be sure to wash it off with tea or lemon so to avoid the smell); croquetas de pollo (chicken croquettes), calamares, chorizo and tortilla de patata. The main course is served with the signature dish of their savory "Paella de la Casa",a complete the meal with bebidas like calimocho (kalimotxo), an equal mixed of red wine and cola-based beverage.

Ipars Restaurante Y Bar de Tapas also serves "flan al caramelo" or leche flan with its very creamy and sweet taste. Another drink offered is also a must-try Coffee Bombon - a mixed of espresso and milk (so sweet but you can still taste the coffee).

The staff, the owner and the service...
It was Mr. Ipar, himself, who greeted us during the "Cebu Food Crawl" last November 27, 2015. He gave us a brief history of his restaurant, introduced us to the dishes he prepared for us and eventually, shared informative talk with us. He was also accommodating. The food servers were always ready to cater our needs. So, thumbs up to them!

"You can bring your family and your group here. Just inform me ahead so I can accommodate you. I want you to be honest with the food - what it really tastes. If it is too salty or something, tell me so that I can improve. I will be happy for that." - Mr. Ipar O. Miranda, Chef/Owner of Ipars Restaurante Y Bar De Tapas.
